10: Do you have questions about gold sodium thiosulfate (GST)?
Gold is an allergen surrounded by considerable controversy. Its clinical relevance has been questioned, concerns about the risk of sensitizing patients have been expressed, and how reaction patterns to gold should be interpreted has been debated. These controversies, combined with common misconceptions about gold, have generated considerable confusion about the inclusion of gold sodium thiosulfate on the T.R.U.E./TRUE Test Metal Panel 3.1.
